What to Buy
Before you go out shopping, be sure to find out what the college allows and advises. Some ban items like space heaters, candles, electric blankets, and others. Here’s what you should get for your freshman college student:
- Power cord with a surge protector and USB ports.
- Area rug. The floors are usually cold and hard.
- Fitted sheet that fits properly. Add pillowcases too.
- A comforter with a washable cover.
- Towels and shower sandals.
- Basic first aid kit.
- Storage bins that are easily accessible. Laziness is a major obstacle in college.
- Cleaning wipes.
- A reading pillow with back support.
