What’s New?
The 2023 Kia Sportage is unrecognizable from its previous variations. The newest model is bigger and bolder thanks to a focus on enhancing the exterior design and increasing the overall size. Additionally, the fifth-generation model introduces an array of firsts for the Sportage. This includes an available panoramic curved digital display along with a new variant.
When it comes to the exterior redesign, the Sportage hones in on a modern, aggressive look. Exterior design updates include:
- “Boomerang” daytime running lights.
- A tiger-nose grille.
- More angular fenders.
- Muscular shoulders that flow into notch-shaped taillights.
- Crisp shoulder lines that rise from the hood, which add more volume to the shape of the Sportage.
The interior features best-in-class legroom and cargo capacity thanks to an increase in size. The Sportage has lengthened 7.1 inches and features a wheelbase that is 3.4-inches longer. It is also taller and wider. Features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay®, wireless device charging, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and much more.

Power and Performance
The 2023 Sportage is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder 187-horsepower engine that is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The hybrid Sportage combines a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with a single electric motor that produces 226 horsepower. Both powertrains are paired with either front- or all-wheel drive.
The Sportage features a new platform with a longer wheelbase, which drastically improves the SUV’s comfort. The new platform also aims to minimize road, wind, and engine noise through sound-absorbing and insulating materials.
