In April 2023, Kia unveiled its latest electric vehicle, the three-row EV9 SUV. The debut of the 2024 EV9 is all part of Kia’s plan to offer a lineup of 11 new electric vehicles on the market by 2026. Like objects in the mirror, that deadline is closer than it might appear, but Kia is well on its way to achieving that goal, and if the EV9 is any indication, the all-electric Kia family promises something for virtually any driver’s needs. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from the 2024 Kia EV9 .
True SUV Versatility
On the inside, the EV9 is available with six- and seven-seater configurations depending on whether you opt for a middle-row bench seat or bolstered captain’s chairs. Any configuration promises family-friendly cruising, with ample room for your crew as well as all their cargo. As Kia demonstrates just how an electric vehicle can fill a wide variety of roles, the EV9 can adapt to your needs as often as they change, whether you are loading up for the morning carpool, running errands in town, or hitting the highway for adventure. Legroom and elbowroom abound from the front row to the back, allowing your passengers all the space they need to sit back and enjoy the ride. When you fold the passenger seating, the 2024 EV9 provides up to 81.9 cubic feet of storage space.
Impressive Electric Performance
The standard EV9 features rear-wheel drive with an electric motor that delivers 215 horsepower. Kia also offers an all-wheel drive EV9 GT-Line variation with two electric motors for a total of 379 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, and you can engage the available Boost mode whenever you need the extra torque for quicker acceleration. When the 2024 Kia EV9 is fully equipped for towing, it can pull up to 5,000 pounds. The EV9 touts efficient driving no matter what powertrain option you choose from, and the electric SUV is available with either the standard 76.1-kWh battery and a 160-kW motor or the available 99.8-kWh battery that can be paired with either a single- or dual-motor setup. When equipped with the single motor configuration and optional battery, the EV9 is capable of hundreds of miles on a single full charge, allowing you to leave your driveway with confidence.
