It’s time to bid adieu to 2022 and ring in 2023. As you get set to celebrate the start of a new calendar, we want to share several party ideas to start the new year off right. Remember, as you consider each one, taken into account the number of guests you expect, whether there will be kids attending, your budget, and other factors.
Black-And-White Theme
Going only black and white makes for a sophisticated vibe. Balloons, streamers, food – everything. You may even want to ask your guests to dress in black and white. Fancy.
Pajama Party
Here’s a fun idea that’s also comfortable. Ask everyone to don some nice PJs for the evening. In this attire you should be extra relaxed watching the ball drop from your couch.
Glitter Fest
Ask your guests to wear anything that sparkles, whether it’s a bedazzled dress or a sequined bow tie. You can even fill your confetti poppers and balloons with glitter for a bit more pizzazz.
Karaoke Party
Sing and dance through the final hours of 2022 with lots of tunes on a karaoke machine. Maybe around midnight you can all join in on a rendition of Auld Lang Syne.
Backyard Fire Pit
If the temperature’s just right here in Alcoa, Tennessee, gathering outside around the fire pit can be a fun way to celebrate. Just make sure to have backup plans if it becomes too wet or too cold.
Game Night
Whether you want to play board games, card games, video games, or a little bit of it all, getting together with friends and family for a little competition can be a fun idea.
Decades Theme
Invite your guests to dress up as different decades. You’ll probably get flapper dresses, disco shoes, poodle skirts – who knows? Maybe add some decorations like peace signs and a disco ball.

Winter Wonderland
After the winter blast to end the season here in Tennessee you may want to keep it going with a winter theme. Silver and blue decorations, snowflakes, and frosted pines will do nicely.
