  • Coordinating Cardstock
  • Silver Star Embellishments
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Needle
  • 3/8-inch Star Ribbon in Navy and Red
  • 5/8-inch Navy and Red Ribbon

Instructions

Step 1: Take the paper trim and separate all the journaling cards. NOTE: You don’t have to use all the journaling, but 11 cards are perfect for a banner; it can hold four small cards (3 inches wide), six medium (4 inches wide), and one large card in the center (6 inches wide).

Step 2: Cut the cardstock to be the same width as the journaling cards and about 5.25 inches tall, then glue the cardstock to the back of the journaling cards. NOTE: There should be a 1/2 inch of space left at the top and a 3/4 inch of space at the bottom.

Step 3: Cut the star ribbon the same width as each card and then glue it to the bottom. NOTE: If you’re working on red paper, use navy star ribbon, and if you’re working on navy paper, use red star ribbon.

Step 4: Cut 3-inch-long strips of ribbon and then create loops to hang each card. NOTE: You should glue the ribbon on the back and front so that the twine can run through the loops. If you want a specific design, you can layer ribbons to add some dimension.

Step 5: Let the glue dry, then add silver star embellishments to the base of each loop. NOTE: You can alternate between small and big silver star embellishments.

Step 6: String the twine between the loops. NOTE: You can also use yarn if you don’t have twine.

Step 7: Hang your banner and enjoy!
